NDE where Name of spiritual being is given

I've noticed in the past that often in NDE accounts an overwhelming spiritual being is encountered, but no name is given. The person  reporting the experience does sometimes say that they met god or Jesus, however this seems to be inferred or assumed based on prior expectation, rather than explicitly stated by the being itself.

Nevertheless, I came across an account where the being directly supplies his own name.
Joe W Wrote:I could not see a face but felt the presence of Jesus on a throne. I said ‘who are you?’ He replied ‘I am your Lord Jesus ’and I fell to my knees.

I'm interested in looking for patterns in larger numbers of different NDE accounts. One cannot conclude much from a single instance.

by way of comparison, an NDE with an encounter with an unnamed being:
Ken D Wrote:Behind me and to the right a luminous angel-like man appeared. It wasn't until long afterwards that I was surprised to be able to see this being, although in this experience he was outside my field of vision. The angel spoke to me with the most comfortable Male voice, and he called me by my nickname 'Kukke.' His presence instilled in me the greatest tranquility. For some reason, I knew that he was my 'light angel' even though I had never heard of 'light angels' before.

That second account is more detailed than some, but other than that seems more like the usual examples where no name is supplied, though the narrator supplies the descriptive term "light angel'.

I would be very interested to find more accounts like the first where the being gives his/her/its name.

I've never come across one (as far as I can remember). I don't even think Vicki Umipeg's (formerly Noratuk) experience of seeing "Jesus" (she said) in heaven contains that.

I'm not religious but if one accepts that some people (western Christian origin) see this figure, it is at least reasonable for them to assume it's the historical Jesus. Whether or not it is, I think it's also reasonable for other denominations to label it how they like.

Edit : There's a problem with this post that I can't correct but I'll leave it up anyway.

Edit 2 : I just remembered, George Ritchie's account > "Stand up, you are in the presence of the son of God!"

Thanks Tim, I have a copy of George Ritchie's book "Return from Tomorrow", I'll read it again.

Where was I heading with this thread? Well sometimes I like to over-simplify things and make them fit neatly into place, but the real world often doesn't cooperate and is more complicated. My hypothesis was that the name is always inferred rather than supplied. That may not be completely true, we can find counter-examples, though my reason for asking was to try to assess the reliability of such examples. For example whether they may be part fictionalised or embroidered in the retelling. I've not reached a conclusion.

Interestingly perhaps, names often seem to be a bit of a problem with mediumship too. I sometimes wonder how important names really are when we know who a person is. I rarely seem to use the actual names of people close to me when context makes it clear, and almost never when I am speaking to them directly. With some I use a nickname, and others like my Mum or brother, a title. I know who I’m referring to and use the name or title to avoid misunderstanding by people who can’t read my mind lol.

I wonder, if it’s easier to communicate thoughts directly post-mortem, whether the need for a specific name is reduced or eliminated as the communicator and receiver “know” who is being referred to. Perhaps people get used to not needing a name? Just a thought.
