Thank you. I see that now. I'll give it a try next time.

I was kind of expecting to see a preview of the Twitter link recently posted, but all I see is the bare link.

/debug and inquiry mode on:

OK, and/so, do you see previews for any other (otherwise bare) Twitter links?

Also:

I had to disable all of my various "blocking of disreputable stuff" plugins on this site before these Twitter links showed up expanded. That includes the plugins "Adblock plus", "Ghostery", and "Privacy Badger". Is it possible that you have some such plugin which is blocking Twitter previews (perhaps under the presumption that they are some sort of illicit social media content)?

/debug and inquiry mode off

I don't remember seeing any recent twitter links apart from this one.

It may indeed be a security plugin. I mostly use firefox, quite heavily configured. MS Edge doesn't show the preview. I hardly ever use edge, so I don't think I configured it much beyond trying to get a blank page to show rather than some microsoft stuff. Google Chrome does actually show the preview, but I only rarely use that.

On android, the built-in samsung browser showed the preview, but firefox didn't.
I seem to have lost a post. I typed another reply here a few minutes ago, seems to have vaporised Smile

Ah. Right. Fair enough. Because Stanley is pretty much the only one who posts them, and in the opt-in forums which you don't frequent...

Likewise. The other possibility which I've realised since my last post, is that you need to turn "Enhanced Tracking Protection" off on Firefox for this site (see the little icon just to the left of the address bar).

I just fired up Edge in a virtual machine, and whilst I initially thought, "OK, Typoz is right - it doesn't show the preview", when I waited, and waited, and waaaaaited, it eventually did show (although there were (unrelated) errors in the Javascript console, which I need to debug).

Same here.

Again, perhaps you need to turn "Enhanced Tracking Protection" off for Firefox on your Android device?

Oh boy. MyBB sometimes does sometimes seem to swallow up private messages, and perhaps even posts. :-(

I just tried that - yes it fixed the problem. And firefox then listed five different trackers it detected.

I'll look at Edge and Android later, for now I have a place to look for the setting needed which is good,

It may have been a timing issue, I completed my post, expected to see it, and saw one of your new posts instead. Initially I just thought I'd need to refresh the page but that didn't help. Maybe two people posting more-or-less simultaneously in the same thread may create a black hole?

My other post didn't say a lot, though I did mention somewhere that youtube previews have always worked, didn't have anything like this.
