I don't know where else to put this because its not really "research" and it spans a few different topics so it makes sense to put it here.
I have very mixed views of this person, it sounds like he's been interviewed before but I haven't looked for any of those so my opinion is based solely on this. He is probably the first person that sounds like they've had experiences remotely similar to mine. They also seem like they have the starts of a decent understanding of magic. But at the same time, they're clearly a spiritualist, I cringe when they unironically described themselves as becoming/being a "being of magnificence" and wonder how, despite apparently being in some sort of martial arts training since age 5, they could possibly think that a viable tactical solution in a situation where they are surrounded is to just push a bubble of energy out of themselves in all directions.... and then be surprised when that inevitably doesn't work. I have serious doubts that he could have possibly gotten remotely close to any sort of serious base of power given what he describes, especially if the aforementioned bubble crush described above was the first time he felt himself not strong enough to do something. Though, I admit I've been surprised by people I've found goofy or overly positive before. And/or maybe said base of power really isn't all that great.
Realistically though it was pretty nice to listen to this, he seemed like he has started to realize that the world doesn't work on Pokemon logic, and that its possible for things to look one way yet not be that way. And as much as the spiritualism annoys me, I'd much rather leave magic development and popularization to people like this than me. More than likely the spiritualism will get refined out over time given his attitude that "results are what matter", because that's true. Though maybe not by him, maybe in the next generation or two of development will do it.
