She went into cardiac arrest while giving birth because of a medical error (the beginning of the video is missing).

I really find the thing about the silver cords cool, given the mediumship lore, but it has also featured in other NDEs:

Also a moving life-review, her ability to feel what the others around her are feeling, and her reporting back to doctors what they were saying while she was clinically dead.

Interesting thanks. I found the way it presented it and the constant recaps a bit trying lol

The presentation is a bit irritating, I agree, Obiwan. It is a powerful report though and one I've always found a bit disturbing. I've never heard of someone feeling the pain inflicted on them (selves) before as far as I can recall. And yet she seems very honest.

The issue of her grandmother's suicide was also intriguing and that appears to be the case, if we take the many other similar reports seriously; they have to come back and do it all again (the same life). It raises some very sobering questions for us all which I'll leave off from attempting to answer. (I don't have the answers)

Do it all again... maybe not straight away, though? A psychic I got a reading from said that in one life where I was a homeless person in Britain many centuries ago, my Soul had guided me towards suicide, because otherwise, the me in that life would have done awful things to other people, driven by my life circumstances.

I logically may have waited for many lifetimes before attempting the same sort of thing again, waiting until my Soul reckoned I was strong enough to make it through those tricky trials of learning.

I guess the feeling of pain might be possible unless separation is complete. There does seem to be some sort of connection eg reference to the “web-like” structure. There’s also a sense that we  in some ways experience pain by simply observing it sometimes isn’t there? We wince when we see suffering. Dunno.

The suicide point is an interesting one. Personally I think the evidence for the consequences of suicide is too varied for form a view for the general case.

Forcing a soul that has ended thier life from trauma and or depression, to reincarnate. Would be the moral equivalent of  giving a blind man a compass and dropping him off in a wilderness area.
It strikes me as the antithesis to the typical NDE.

Perhaps that person is not so much being "forced", as having decided to return to complete the life lessons, and without there being a notion of moral judgment as to her decisions? Who knows.

(In any event, that element isn't what I like about that account.)

Hi, Valmar. The only thing I'm personally certain about (beyond reasonable doubt) is that consciousness continues and that I've been here before. I hope we'll be able to make sense of it all when we're back over there.

Good points, Obiwan.

This is a well testified/authenticated account (maybe a bit sentimental) from the kind of person no sceptic could ever seriously accuse of confabulation. The cliff he fell over is shown, the doctor who treated him, the nurse he first told his story to etc, Peter Fenwick and Susan Blackmore.

At 7.25, Blackmore enlightens us with a spot of her trusty "finger wiggling".
