Can Panpsychism Save Naturalism From Itself?

Well I don't deny that for a second, but if there is a reasonable analogy between our understanding of the mental world and the UGs understanding of chemistry, then you can see the impasse!

Normal science admits all sorts of theories that only work in a limited domain, or with limited accuracy, but by blocking this very important normal mechanism of science - making provisional theories that allow information to be organised and ultimately give way to more refined theories - they can hold up progress in mind matter science indefinitely.

Science only has a chance to work step by step. All our physical theories have developed that way - first we discovered that things fall at an acceleration of 1 g regardless of their composition if you can avoid air friction. After that the ground was laid for Newtons theory of gravity - even though that somewhat contradicts the idea of constant acceleration under gravity, because it shows that the acceleration varies with the height above the earth.

Demanding a perfect theory from the start is a damn good way of preventing scientific prograess.
