I thought there would be a longer discussion on Star Talk but it seems this is it? ->
And another link on Star Talk with NDTyson discussing the Simulation Hypothesis ->
'Historically, we may regard materialism as a system of dogma set up to combat orthodox dogma...Accordingly we find that, as ancient orthodoxies disintegrate, materialism more and more gives way to scepticism.'

I have to admit I was surprised by how emphatic he's become about the fact we are apparently living in a simulation.
You would need a different kind of structure. (Hammeroff has argued Orch-OR would allow for uploads of minds into some kind of lattice structure capable of preserving the quantum relationships, to give one potential example...)
