3 minutes a day with SIP of the divine

I've got nothing after 5 (or 6) tries? (By nothing of course I mean nothing that me in my very finite mind could be aware of. Who knows what happens at another level of awareness.). I could notice after the 2nd or 3rd try the lowering of hope, but I'm being mindful of that, just trying to observe it as a thought or reaction and not give it much credence.

It could be that this 3-minute exercise will never give me the goods, but I'll continue, and I do other meditation which I sometimes gear to connecting with Spirit or opening myself to it. I do enjoy the process of tuning into (trying to) pure awareness and listening/sensing. It's liberating in itself.

When the occasion presents itself, I try to do a 20-minute mindfulness meditation just before it.

I don't know how it is with guides or your higher self or Source itself, but when I read about loved ones communicating, it's really not an easy process for them either. Some are more or less good at it, they have to learn the skill or receive help possibly.

I am of the opinion through reading about it that we all have both psychic and mediumistic abilities to some degree, and it's a question of acknowledging it, and practicing and refining them.
I have a little something to relate that happened around the time I did this meditation just last evening.

My beloved 18-year-old male cat transitioned 5 weeks ago yesterday. I knew it was coming because he had cancer but the preparatory grief did not mean a less intense reaction of grief at his passing, and since. At times it was excruciating, as I'm sure people know who've gone through losing beings they feel very close to.

At the same time, whereas in the past I've tended to avoid readings and videos on animal passings because I couldn't bear it, this time I decided to immerse myself fully in such material, and not turn away from the pain. I started immediately, as soon as I arrived from the vet to ask for signs and visitations, to watch videos on the subject, through a lot of crying and weeping a lot of the time, to talk to him, and keep a journal. I now have 29 items that I've noted. I won't share them because I want this to remain personal. They were especially many during the first two weeks, and a few quite convincing to me.

The last potential sign I noted though was last evening. So I did the 20 minute mindfulness meditation, before doing this 3-minute exercise, and during it thoughts did occasionally arise, and at one time I thought of my cat and my heart swelled up with emotion (pet medium Brent Atwater says that this in itself is a sign our beloved is near us). I had eaten a full meal a bit earlier but as this was quite later in the evening and I was going to go to bed soon, I felt a little gnawing in my stomach and decided I would eat something just after these meditations, and my mind rested on a Granola bar that's located in my work suitcase for hunger "emergencies" at work. I finished the meditation, then I did the SIP of the divine exercise. Immediately afterwards I got up, put my hand in the suitcase and what I picked up first at the bottom of the suitcase was an old scrunched up pamphlet for pet insurance I had forgotten was there (it must be 4 years), bent, with the picture of a little dog staring up at me. (No cat on this pamplet!) Anyway, whatever it means, synchronicity, sign, message, it's cute and I'll take it.

Sharing this FWIW....

During this exercise last evening (Friday), I was very tired, almost chose not to do it, but went ahead...

I can't say it's not just my umprompted imagination working by itself, but I was seeing the image of my acupuncturist, who is also giving a QiGong course that I am attending, spinning some sort of contraption, a bit yo-yo-ish, with luminous lights, all light green and blues, like little round balls (each green was paired with a blue, very light and pastel-colored like). Then she held the contraption or whatever it was, and those luminous green and blue light "balls" kind of rained down and made a tower or a towering building under it.

This morning (Saturday) was my third and final of these courses. (They've been occurring every 2nd week.) The acupuncturist/QiGong course teacher was wearing something attaching her hair in the back which was this sort of long pin (?) with these little colored "things" (rubber, plastic, tissue?) that were roundish but like little flowers, and each was a single, bright pastel-ish saturated color. There were a few orange and a yellow, and maybe a violet, but most preponderant were the same sort of light, pastel greens and blues.

She made humorous remarks about it and at one point she took the pin out, and spun it in front of her (!).

The QiGong course she's giving is for healing physical and emotional problems, but also for our spiritual connection and growth. We ended with a 30-minute meditation where she led us to visualize ourselves as a sort of tree or tower, connecting both to the earth and above. And during the "above" section we were imaging light raining down on us through our crown chakra. (White light, not green and blue!) But anyway, there it is.

And now as I sit watching the little drawing I made and notes I wrote last night, I notice they were on a pastel green note pad piece of paper, and the colors of the note pads in front of my desk are green and blue. (Funny also that I notice the likes on this forum as I am to post this are green and blue!)

At the end of the exercizse, she made us choose a butterfly magnet, one that we resonated with. Needless to say, I chose one that was green and blue.

I had another such "visualization" during this exercise either the night before or the one before, so I'll see what happens! It involved my aging parents looking younger and smiling, and sitting in a huge yellow cup-like "thing"/vessel that was balancing back and forth, kind of like a Tilt-a-Whirl "cup".
