Alex has put up an exceptionally good podcast containing a discussion with William Peters, who has collected a lot of information about shared death experiences - including some exotic variations on the basic concept.
I think this podcast is well worth popping over (back) to Skeptiko to listen, and
I think this is an example of how normative the NDE idea is becoming. The take is more pragmatic, than some, but healthy to me. The model, where an event causes a change of heart, is still there.
