Questions, concerns and help regarding Nanci Danison

Hello everyone,

I just became a member here and I hope we can get along well!

Well about my question, first a few notes: 1: I have little to no experience with forums, so sorry if things appeared weird 2: My questions might not seem to be related to NDEs but Danison is famous due them so I thought it's justified to post them here, but sorry if it doesn't fit here. 3: I have no intention of offending anyone, so if I accidentally did something inappropriate please put this on my inexperience and anxiety. 4: It is a going to be a rather long post, so please have some patience, this topic is really important for me.

So about our main topic, I stumbled upon her roughly 1 year ago in NDE subreddit which I saw some posts posted by her "cult follower" (reddit user u/Adult_InThe_Room who is obsessed with her even now) about her NDE which mainly was from her own YouTube channel.

At first it all seemed normal, however after sometime u/Adult_InThe_Room started posting some quantum related videos related to her like these:
https://www.reddit.com/r/NDE/comments/o6..._what_the/
https://www.reddit.com/r/NDE/comments/ow...n_for_the/

This was still relatively normal as he's generally a quantum hermit or something like that, however then I saw perhaps the most bizzare (and to be honest personally terrifying) thing she had said up until now, "other sources/gods":
https://www.reddit.com/r/NDE/comments/re...bility_of/ (However note the fact that this post is removed and I couldn't find the exact video, but I'm sure it was part of her YouTube channel (I think it was one of the longer ones) which you can see here https://www.youtube.com/user/NanciDanison (also sorry for this))

To be honest this scared me a lot as I'm a Muslim (an unorthodox one however) and this seemed like polytheism, so I had a discussion with a friend from reddit (u/lepandas who is a moderator at r/NDE and a subreddit related to Kastrup and idealism and also a follower of Advaita Vedanta) who told me there are other sources that mentions such thing like The Seth Material (which according to him says that "god or source is constantly looking to find others like it"), RJ Spina and Hindu myths but it's not a problem as they are ultimately manifestations and/or disassociation of the same being, so I carried on.

A few notes about my friend here (I think explaining his views are important as he is pretty much a big shot, just look at his profile in reddit; but feel free to skip this part if you want), he believes in multiverse which each universe has its own god and there's a god of multiverse which the being Eben Alexander met was him, however I don't know if he consider it the ultimate God as he's a man of Advaita and he once said all of these gods and things are dreamed up by you. he also said he likes her and thinks that Danison is legit, seems sincere and her story holds up and he finds it "quite implausible that she would be lying as she gave up a lucrative career as lawyer to talk about her NDE" (however there is something related to this which I bring up soon), he also said that he has read her books and they made sense to him (this was for like 8 to 6 months ago) and her NDE is one of the strangest but the most in depth one he has ever came across.

So what's the problem now? Well I recently came across a video in which she says Jesus never existed (not being mystified and such, completely fake): https://www.reddit.com/r/NDE/comments/yk...ligion_no/ (She talk about Jesus at 20:30, however you can read the thing here: https://nextlevelsoul.com/nanci-danison/) also as some of you might know she has a book named Backwards Beliefs: Revealing Eternal Truths Hidden in Religions which seemingly says more or less the same but for others (like prophet Moses) as well. and finally, she seemingly "close the case" of arguing for Jesus from a NDE standpoint ("he appeared in NDEs so he's real") here: https://www.reddit.com/r/NDE/comments/ou...see_happy/

To be honest... this kind of broke me as I wasn't (and still am not, this happened just this morning) in a good shape, so I looked at some criticisms of her and found this: https://www.skepticforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=22179 To be honest I think a lot of arguments are materialistic trash and I feel bad that I got so desperate that went there, but it potentially shows something (and Also some in NDE subreddit showed their disagreement with her, I thought it was worth mentioning) But the main thing is, I don't know what should I do, I'm just tired and out of ideas which made to create an account here to ask this, I thought you guys might be able to help as I was here before as a lurker and have seen your abilities.

So, any thoughts, opinions, suggestions or anything else? (Also thanks in advance as I might answer back late as it is middle of the night here)

I can't help you with that post, Jetrang but I can assure you that the historical Jesus certainly existed, beyond any reasonable doubt. The Romans and the Jews, Paul etc (Saul) and many more recorded him. Much more qualified commenters (historians) would be quite happy to back that up.

Don't worry sir, to be honest this is more than enough in my situation

Thanks ! I hope it's insightful. There are many good contributors on here, some that don't post much anymore. I'm just one of those, hopefully, although some would disagree lol.

Very few people believe this and it probably comes from the same anger against the mainstream that causes most conspiracy theories.  The vast majority of Historians believe that Jesus was a real historical character.  A lot of social media platforms such as Reddit are full of ignorant people who don't do any real research but think they know it all because they read a book or somebody else said so.   I wouldn't worry about them.

Hello Mr Brian, it might seem weird but I was kind of waiting for your answer, so thanks for it.

Anyway, what concerns me is her status in NDE and similar communities (which goes without saying that her influence is growing), to the degree that she has a cult following (a fan of her said that she's the only authority about other side or something like that and that adult guy tries to bridge her NDE to quantum physics and such to give it more credibility); and this aside her NDE (and leaving her career) was enough to impress that friend of mine and call it the most in depth NDE he ever encountered and he is a pro himself as much as I can tell, even in this forum if you search her name you'll get a lot of results which again, shows her influence.

I understand that this might look like appeal to authority fallacy, but I believe that this matter might be serious, especially for us. (And thanks again for your help)
From my own experience, in order to grow, to progress, from time to time it is necessary to move on. Just as we go to school, we don't live our entire lives inside the school we attended at 9 years old. We move to a different school. Then maybe to a university. At some point maybe we do something very different, like change careers, work in a different field.

What I'm saying is don't get too attached to some leader figure whether it is Nanci Danison or anyone else. Every so often, you will know when, it will be time to move on, find some other person who inspires. Or follow your own intuition perhaps.

Just a quick note here, it's not like I like her or anything, if anything I find her on nerve However I get your point here, maybe I'm giving her too much credit, but still with the sheer amount of attention she got like I described, I find it all concerning.

Sorry, I wasn't saying you personally were too much involved with this person. It's just that you said in an earlier post,

Quote:her status in NDE and similar communities (which goes without saying that her influence is growing), to the degree that she has a cult following

That reference to a cult following is a bit of a warning sign to me that maybe you are at least on the edge of something like a whirlpool which may draw people in. I just have a personal aversion to getting too caught up in something like that.

However I'm not really qualified to discuss all of this as you say  you are a Muslim (an unorthodox one), that is fine and I'm happy with that. But I'm a bit of an outsider I was brought up in a Christian background and used to go to church regularly until a certain age, but nowadays I don't really belong.

To return to the topic of NDEs, since that's another primary topic here. I've always felt they gave a kind of democratisation to spiritual ideas. This is my personal view and you don't need to agree, I don't mind. Anyway I see it as a sharing out of little (or big) bits of knowledge among the many different people who have their own NDE. Because there are so many NDEs, there is no need to look to any one NDE as containing everything you need to know.

Anyway, while we're on the topic of NDEs may I suggest this one :
3991 Mohammad Z NDE 16083

The part where he has a life review is very interesting, it does cause me to think of my own life too.
