You never will, David and neither will anybody else

Well I tend to assume that consciousness in non-physical - it is VERY hard to explain in physical terms - so I'd guess it is closely related to the afterlife. I think the existence of consciousness (and maybe life itself) is the biggest anomaly in science.

I partly agree but that's not answering anything. (I would also say it's impossible to explain).  I presume you meant by the "conscious realm" whatever the "afterlife" is ? But are we not conscious here ?  Is this not a conscious realm, too ?

No it isn't, though. We can present and discuss the evidence here for the existence of phenomena which falsify materialism. That's very important because everyone should be interested in the truth, so far as we can get to it (which is never far enough).

However, some questions are just a waste of time. I don't know why the universe came into existence and never will so I must drop it as a question. I cannot know the nature of whatever "heaven" is or "god" or the "afterlife". There is no way to begin a conversation scientifically about what the "light of god" is made out of, for instance.

That's all I'm trying to say. And you seem to be contrary to that for some reason.

Actually I was including our present consciousness as well, because the phenomenon of consciousness has stumped science completely.

Agreed 100%. Only rather wacky physicists try to do that.

Well Jurgen Ziewe certainly has something to say about those subjects. I tend to think he may be close to the mark. For example, the Christian concept of Heaven anHell is binary, and I think people tend to be a mixture of good and evil.

Well I feel that if that light somehow evolves from ordinary light - as in some NDE's - that at least hints that the two kinds of light are somehow related.

Well I know we were on the opposite sides of the row at Skeptiko - many years ago - but I feel no antipathy to you, and I thinks our views are relatively close.

Off-hand, I think you have a limited view on the subject.  For one, Ian Thompson, a condensed matter scientist, talks about spiritual light.  He does so in his book "Starting Science from God" and in other papers.

Only if interested, I look would for specifics.

On this topic - for me spirits are not physical, but living.

Yes that's what makes sense to me. You could call that substance "consciousness" (or love or whatever). Something "physical" would be that very same substance "vibrating" at a different "frequency" perhaps.

I know those are human words, but mediums, NDErs, astral OBErs, channelers, etc., all use them, pretty much invariably I dare say, so they're the closest descriptors to the process happening.

Nor me to you, David.

I removed my comment but I disagree.
