There must be, oh, twenty or more teams that are using various and sundry protocols, many have and are making communication with discarnates who provide evidential testimony that ties them to their incarnate life.
This is a phase, a technologically driven 'answer' that one day we will find rather funny. When we remember that all one has to do to 'talk to the dead' is STFU, create the intent and listen.
Is it safe to assume you practice the STFU method?

Absolutely, do you not meditate?

Depends how old you are now as there's no certainty any particular time frame will work out. You might even be back in your next incarnation with folk still waiting for the promised breakthrough.
The break through, all break throughs, have already been created. They must exist or All That Is...isn't. They may exist in other parallel realities which we, if once we set the preference and have the necessity, we will, (not can, it is an automatic shifting and manifestation) find ourselves where the Soul phone is already in use. There is no time component, time is an illusion. Re-incarnation is a misnomer. Everything is one Moment, Now.
We create our physical reality by shifting billions of times/sec from one PR to the next to the next and so on creating a (analogy) a frame-to-frame movie that we arrange in a coordinated, time-based, continuity-bound manner.
Somewhere, some 'place' a Dad is talking to his discarnate son on a Soul Phone and having a Jolly Good time.

I have it on the authority of someone on Twitter channeling the collective intelligence of the Crab Nebula that you're wrong about that.

No.
What have you learned from the disincarnate?
I feel incredibly underwhelmed with "yes or no answers" and blurry images... Maybe I should wait until the equivalent of a "soul-smartphone" comes out?

Haven't you been paying attention? He is disassociated enough as it is.

Seriously, though - I appreciate that some here may believe this kind of thing is possible in principle (or even that it may already be happening in some other metaphysical realm), but I don't think these people are being honest when they say they expect to have, within two years, a "spirit keyboard" by which dead people will be able to send written messages to the living. They are actually getting money from the bereaved. I don't think it's right.

I can certainly sympathise/share your scepticism.

I'm much less happy about the use of this as an argument. It is often associated with outright sceptics who would deny any and all evidence of survival. To me that makes it rather tainted and awkward to deploy.
