Done, although I'm not sure it's all that aesthetically pleasing.
yes, it looks foul
That's a better way of putting it. What would your solution/suggestion be, Max? Right now this dividing line is 4 pixels high with colour #333, and the bottom margin of posts is 30 pixels high. Hit us with your best alternative!
Difficult to say, depends on what your options are for adjusting colours, and it would take some time playing around. First thoughts are reverse your change, and then I'd try playing around with the colours of the background of the main top bar (which contains the avatar), and the background of the bottom bar (which contains the like buttons etc), seeing what it looks like (kept neutral but slightly darker #e9e9e9 perhaps), you can't go much darker than that without adjusting other things. So if that's not sufficient it's possible you could add a bit of tint too it, a bit of yellow to warm it up to a buttermilk which might look OK with Blue, but that can throw other things out. Honestly it's impossible to say... but as it stands, the center body, and the top and bottom bars (already mentioned) are a little too close.
Just try darkening the top bar with the Avatar first... that alone may be sufficient to create enough distinction between users posts

Mmm, I tried that (with your suggested #e9e9e9), but it doesn't seem to have made much difference. Let me try something a little darker.
A thing is that other forums have their buttons at the top of a post, and here they are at the bottom. So it's good if one can intuitively pick the right ones, without having to think too much about it.
A bit darker line than the original would be good I think.

Looks OK to me, tbh, I think once your brain gets used to using the avatar on the left as defining where a new post starts it doesn't matter.
