Strange dream experience from this morning

Okay so this could be my subconscious playing tricks on me. For the record I've never seen the matrix (I'm a zoomer). I woke up this morning and after my dream but before I woke up, I saw scrolling lines of green text against a black background. I could identify letters and numbers. It then became a box and flew away into blackness, like an imovie transition. I then woke up.

I've also previously read about this in a few NDEs, as well as people who use DMT have experienced the exact same thing.

Thanks for sharing Lotus.

It is my understanding that hypnagogic imagery could be responsible for these experiences on some occasions.

I've had similar many times before though not what you describe (and I've never heard of that before from a personal account, so it is interesting....are you involved in IT by any chance?).

I could swear on many occasions seeing and feeling insects and spiders etc at the foot of my bed around me feet, seeing spiders on walls, giant spider webs etc. I don't know why spiders feature heavy for me (lol) but it's quite unpleasant. However what is striking is that sometimes the imagery is very real and lifelike and there is a moment of confusion when they "fade away" (coinciding with that groggy return to the waking state).

Dreams or also hypnagogic and hypnopompic experiences are always interesting, thanks for sharing.

As someone who used to work for years with screens of green code on a black screen I have to say it has never appeared in any of my dreams or visions. What I do see quite frequently in half-waking states is handwritten text, sometimes large pieces, other times just a few words. But it is always unreadable, in a type of handwriting which is very familiar but not in the English language. It feels very personal in a way, as though relating to someone I knew, but I'm not sure it carries any specific meaning; it just is.

On the subject of green text on a black screen I did once, while at work have the experience of looking right through the screen as though it was a window and seeing an ancient cave painting vividly for a few seconds. It stopped me in my tracks, I paused any work activities for several minutes while I pondered on it, but the vision did not continue.

'Responsible' meaning how we label or categorise such things perhaps. I'm not sure what any of it means. Some of my visions in the period before falling asleep have sometimes been intensely detailed and colourful viewing of human decorated items such as pottery or clothing accessories, things made to be highly decorative, and impressively so rather than merely functional. I'm never sure whether I might be remote-viewing something real in another place or time, or whether it is simply a fabrication of my mind. At any rate, they tend to be beyond ordinary waking life both in the sharpness and intense clarity of the imagery, as well as the level of skill and artistry which is beyond my waking abilities.

I'm sorry that you sometimes have more unpleasant experiences. I'd guess that it is a passing phase, sometimes things change with time, hopefully you will alight on something more uplifting.

I regularly see shapes and patterns as I wake up, usually colourless... normally no bigger than size of a football at 3 yards... but can be smaller or larger... often dark/shadowed symbols with strange writing... but sometimes small shadowy things that look like small creatures, often with legs... they last for no more than 30 seconds, and seem to follow my gaze, but are often slightly off-center so that attempts to focus on their detail, ends up with them accelerating away - because I can't ever center them I think. One of my friends used to regularly see shadowy spiders coming down from the ceiling when awakening. I remember reading a blog years ago from a person who called them 'thought-forms', she often saw massive multi-colour objects spinning around, and morphing in space when she awoke. There is something interesting about them...

Now that, for me, is you experiencing someone else's experience.
We shall not cease from exploration
And the end of all our exploring
Will be to arrive where we started
And know the place for the first time.

That's so fascinating! I love to hear about it. Weird stuff like this is why I'm so subscribed to Idealist philosophy
