About a year ago I lost a hard drive with all my research into parapsychology on it, so I'm going by memory here, but you and Chris are on the right lines. There's a quote from a skeptic (Martin Gardner) that went something like Taylor's reasons for rejecting the paranormal were as weak as his reasons for accepting them.
I'm sure there was a peer reviewed paper on his failed experiments into parapsychology but I don't recall which journal.
