The rule is there because that's all that "type"* is interested in doing: denying the very existence of the interesting stuff that we like to talk about in the ECP forums, thus obstructing, diverting, or otherwise hindering our conversations.
Ordinary members are not required to believe everything though, and thus are, as I say, perfectly welcome to challenge or attack particular posts in the ECP section without generally trying to "debunk" absolutely everything.
We don't, though, want to deny skeptics - of whom there aren't any active at the moment - the right to make their arguments and press their cases, so that's why the SvP forum is "no holds barred". There, skeptics can deny, deny, and deny to their hearts' content, without obstructing the more productive conversations the rest of us like to have. Those of us who wish to do battle with the skeptics can choose to do so in the SvP form, and those who don't can simply avoid that forum.
Does that make sense?
* I know, generalisations like that are tedious but in this case it's accurate enough to be of pragmatic use.
For sure. Imagine my life of all this Psi phenomena, and how many times I was dragged to the hospital for an EEG or other tests?
How much ridicule and abuse have I had?
Plenty of jerks have sedated or otherwise medicated me instead of informing themselves.
That might be obvious in my approach to many things, sorry in advance if that tank rolls over anyone.
I have looked into so many topics, in depth, mainly because of the deranged mental lockdown brainwashing of this sick society that tries to force a twisted version of reality that is not true down my throat. Long sentence.
So not a skeptic, for sure.
Opinionated, yes.
Critical, yes.
I can see that some people are where I was 45 years ago. Some people are enthusiastic.
I am not a fan of Harry Pothead thinking. I do wish Santa and the tooth fairy were real, but some of us know they are not.
Anyone trying to push the idea of a real Santa or some tooth fairy needs to have evidence. I have seen the damn tooth fairy, when I was 8, and in bed, supposed to be sleeping (big hint about how that happened). Running around the house in the middle of the night screaming I saw the tooth fairy... guess what, back to the hospital.
To me, there will always be a tooth fairy. That fairy is stuck in my deepest memory, it was quite impressive, it was quite real.
But other me now knows how things like that happen. And I understand them. I know that what feels real and seems very real is not necessarily real at all.
Feel free to argue with me anytime! I'm not mean, hateful, or too far gone to hear any argument.
Please do let me know in advance if any of you are sensitive, or mentally fragile, and I will show mercy and try to be gentle.
I do expect everyone to be capable of defending any statement, proving things or showing data to support the ideas.
I defiantly challenge things to keep my own mind sharp, and your mind sharp. We are never done learning. We never know everything.
So, back to the topic. Sorry for the interruption.
