Operation Peach Pit

Courtesy of the SPR Facebook page, here's an article in the New York Times Magazine about Susan Gerbic's latest project, which involves attempting to expose fraudulent celebrity mediums by setting up fake Facebook accounts and then getting people in the audience to pose as their owners:

I don't have any sympathy at all for fraudulent mediums, but what makes me uncomfortable is that such "sting" operations have also been used against legitimate parapsychologists. Once you start deceiving people - even people who are themselves acting in good faith - because the ends justify the means, it's not clear where the deception is going to end.
