We have all likely seen the many orbs photographed or otherwise captured in various media, and many of us have experienced them firsthand.
My first orb was at 8 years old.
I had lost a tooth, and still believed there was a tooth fairy. I wanted to keep the tooth, so I put it in a glass of water on the nightstand next to my bed. I drifted off to sleep, and woke a short time later... knowing or sensing something was different.
I sat up in bed and looked at the door, which had an old skeleton key keyhole. At that moment, a light was visible through the keyhole. That light then moved through the keyhole and came into the room, flying around like an insect. A tiny orb of concentrated white light! I was very excited because I was sure this was the tooth fairy.
It hovered over the glass of water containing the tooth, and then flew back to the door and exited through the keyhole. The tooth was still there.
I jumped out of bed and ran through the house screaming that I saw the tooth fairy, waking everyone up in the dead of night.
It took some time to calm down and go back to bed, and it did launch my interest in all things paranormal and fringe.
Now, whether I was half-dreaming, hallucinating, projecting what I wanted to see, or whether it was an actual orb, will remain a mystery, and is up to all forms of skepticism. Subjective experiences always are. But they are very meaningful to those who experience them, and can change your life and the course of it.
