Magic is real with David Solomon

If someone thinks this is the wrong place to post it then move it. I put it here because this guy is probably the most rational magic developer I've ever heard. His practice is informed both from Parapsychology as well as learning multiple magic systems. He sounds genuinely ambitious and serious about it, and even if he has a few "spiritualisms" about him they're easy to overlook in the light of everything else.

Enjoyable listen so far, thank you for sharing. I especially appreciate getting to hear about Damanhur as it's a place I've been keeping my eyes on for a while now. I'm personally surprised you like this guy since you take a hard stance against performing magic through invoking higher powers like gods. He also says things like 'I'm absolutely certain', which invokes to me an intellectual naivete unbefitting a magician.

I originally had a reply above about my criticisms but I didn't want  people to read them and then not listen to make up their own minds. No matter how general I tried to be it just seemed petty to mention so I deleted it. Nonetheless he still is the most rational and ambitious practitioner I've found, which is actually kinda sad in a sense. Because yeah, he has some major naivety and yeah, he works with other spirits instead of just learning to do it himself. Despite learning first hand, according to him, that when you outsource responsibility to others you no longer have a say in what happens and it might be something you did't want.

And yeah, he's a moralist and actually thinks you can split up people into "divine" and "demonic" categories as a result. "Demons" will lie to and manipulate you but "angels" won't... for... reasons.. And yeah, I don't think his certainty is warranted and I'm not a fan of his "oneness" belief.

But despite all that I do think he has some good stuff to say that people could genuinely learn from.
