I’ve been searching for a ‘Ghost’ story that was popular a few years ago, and there was certainly a thread about it on Skeptiko, I’m quite sure there must have been one here too.
Can anyone help me ? It’s the Captain Bob ‘Phantom Pilot’ one about a pilot that worked for Loganair dying but after doing so, a colleague met him and had a short conversation with him in the Glasgow airport terminal.
I am struck by how easily ‘things’ can disappear and be forgotten. Maybe not forgotten, but the evidence of their existence can be hard to find, or at leat ‘not easy’. I’ve searched both here and the Skeptiko site using phrases like ‘Captain Bob’, ‘phantom pilot’ (which was the title of the tv clip I think) ‘Ghost’ etc, but haven’t come up with any thread except this one on Skeptiko...which appears to be a discussion after the main one.

Once a video is removed from YouTube, it is very difficult to find other evidence of the event. Books seem to be the only way to guarantee their survival, at least for a bit longer. I admit to being ‘not good’ at digging up evidence, but it shouldn’t be that hard to do so imo, maybe I’m particularly hopeless?
Edit: It is me that’s particularly hopeless!
I left the comfort of the ‘specialist forums’ and searched ‘Phantom Pilot tv ghost story on my preferred ‘duck duck go’. Almost immediately it came up with what I was looking for, the tv video clip that started it all.
I still think my broader point is worth keeping up. Would such a clip still be available if it contained ‘sensitive’ info around 9/11 or anything else that is deemed ‘sensitive’?
Here’s the vid for anyone interested.
