Healing Resources Thread

Post links to (or embeds of) resources about all forms of alternative healing here, whatever broad adjective you might prefer - or that better fits in context - to "alternative": complementary, folk, energy, spiritual, naturopathic, etc.

Resources in any media are fine: text, video, audio, etc.

I'm starting off by sharing a link to the resource I've just discovered in the article I started off the eponymous Who are the fire-tamers? thread with:

It was difficult to decide which forum to post this healing topic in. Doing a search, members have posted healing threads in a variety of different forums. That makes sense, because there's no obvious best fit.

If members think this Resources thread fits best in another forum, let me know - I'm not wedded to its current location.

As we walk, Dr Fejo continues to point out how First Nations people have used nature to heal and nourish their bodies.

The bark from a paperbark tree can be used as a bandage.

The soft mud from a termite mound, an antacid to settle the stomach.

“Everything you need to live is here,” Dr Fejo says.

The knowledge First Nations people have about cultural medicine may have implications for the future development of Western medicine, Dr Gall says.

But first, this knowledge must be protected with intellectual property laws, something not currently recognised in Australia.

“It is the knowledge of our people, and the plants wouldn’t even be here if it wasn’t for our stewardship,” she says.

Moving forward, Dr Gall also wants cultural medicines to be properly regulated, much the same as other consumable products, and not appropriated for commercial profit.
