Alleged Haunted Doll Caught on Camera in Scotland

Paul Seaburn June 23, 2018

Quote:Move over, Annabelle. There’s a new haunted Raggedy Ann doll in town – or at least on Earth – and she’s threatening to take away some of your reputation and business as the scariest haunted doll around. A charity store owner in Scotland spooked by a donated Raggedy Ann doll that seemed to move decided to try and catch it on video … and he quite possibly did. Is this the work of a spirit or possibly anti-vaxxers looking for a new mascot? Wait, what?
Quote:“I am the manager at our charity shop in Scotland and we received a house clearance. In the boxes were an array of oddities and amazing pieces from around the world. One bag had a bunch of old toys as i was checking for good quality toys to sell i came across an old musical raggedy ann doll which straight away reminded my of the real doll based on Annabelle the film.”
Thus begins the story of killerscott666 (if you’re going to upload creepy videos, you don’t want to use your real name, do you?) and his haunted doll. As he explains in the description of the video (seen here), the doll immediately began moving its arms when no one was looking – an act he claims to have caught in two still photos taken ten minutes apart. He claims others who touched the doll felt “uneasy and sick” – sure signs of either doll possession, Annabelle awareness or mass hysteria. In an attempt to catch her in the act, he propped up his phone, put it on ‘record’ and set it next to the doll in the shop storeroom. As seen in the video, the doll’s arm seems to move and the camera is somehow knocked over.

The video description:
Quote:I am the manager at our charity shop in Scotland and we received a house clearance. In the boxes were an array of oddities and amazing pieces from around the world. One bag had a bunch of old toys as i was checking for good quality toys to sell i came across an old musical raggedy ann doll which straight away reminded my of the real doll based on Annabelle the film. I placed her on the floor with her arms on her knees and went down to tell my volunteers what i had found. When i came back her arms were at her sides, i thought it was a bit spooky so decided to place her arms back on her knees and take a photo so if she moved i could compare to photo. 10mins later she had moved her arms again. Everyone that touched the doll felt uneasy and sick. The next day i decided to have my phone on a plate stand to hold it secure and film the doll on a shelf away from any possible causes of movement. Every time i left the stock room i would put it on record. There was nothing showing up on the phone all day and only movement when the phone wasn't put on record and i was busy in stock room to notice anything. But end of day when i went to hoover i clicked record and this is what happened.

Around 2:35 on video the movement starts
Looks exactly like what you'd expect to see if a very amatuerish hoaxer tied some fishing line on the doll's arm and pulled.  Smile

It seems the movement is always in the same direction, that is to find an equilibrium position with the arms at the sides. That sounds like a natural release of stored energy, like the running-down of a clock spring, or the falling downwards of an object raised to a height.

If the movement is in the opposite direction - the clock winds itself up, or the object moves from the ground upwards (other than a bounce after a fall), then it would be a noteworthy anomaly. Not sure there is anything anomalous here.
