Yes, it could certainly be considered as grounds for labelling anyone interested in deeper questions of existence as simply gullible or too stupid to figure things out.
Though I also take the personal view that there is need for balance, for example the importance of art and music in the educational curriculum, where there may be a tendency at least in some areas for a strictly limited education based only on securing a certain type of employment. The word 'balance' here applies as much to the individual too, which means not everything can be handled simply by intellect for example.
