Eben Alexander and Karen Newell are coauthors of Living in a Mindful Universe. Eben is also author of Proof of Heaven and The Map of Heaven. Karen is also the cofounder of a company called Sacred Acoustics. Her website is sacredacoustics.com.

Here they review scientific developments relating to the concept of "objective idealism" and "top-down causality" – the idea that the universe is not dead matter, but is mindlike at its very essence. They share how one can experience this directly through meditation and other spiritual practices. One can even attain states of consciousness akin to the near-death experience. Most profoundly expressed was their appreciation for love.
