Regarding "Children of the Stones", I did watch it a while ago and quite liked it. But the TV series involving children and stones that really scared me as a child was this one:

Well, it's late at night, so I'm not going to watch that!

Nice to find someone who has also watched the old "Children of the Stones." I traumatized (joke) my own son watching it again on YouTube. I was quite excited to find it again all these years later. I've never met anyone else who has seen that weird kids series.

I don't remember watching it when it was first broadcast - not sure why - but I got the impression it had something of a following. But perhaps that was partly because Gareth Thomas (Blake of Blake's Seven*) was in it?

(* For foreign readers - Britain's answer to Star Trek, as though we needed one, already having Doctor Who.)

I didn't see it when it was first broadcast either. I saw it when it was packaged with other British and Australian (?) series into an American broadcast called "The Third Eye" on the cable channel Nickelodeon.

Not quite an edit, but I just found the opening for The Third Eye on Youtube. Kind of creepy.

I've enjoyed this German Netflix series. And it does address some of what we talk about on these forums. Smile

Yeah, I just watched the whole series, and it was great. Thanks for the tip. Thumbs Up
I wonder if it will get another season!?

Another series that might interest you are; Les Revenants  (2012)

(make sure you watch the french original Les Revenants, and not the Hollywood bastardization; The Returned)

I'm glad you enjoyed DARK! I will check out "Les Revenants" if I can, but I've only seen it as "The Returned"? (which I have not watched). I do hope it comes to Netflix; I, too, despise Hollywood remakes of great shows in other countries. The trailer for "Les Revenants" definitely looks interesting.

I watched The Return (Les Revenants) in French with subtitles over a year ago and I'm half way through Dark at the moment. Thankfully, Netflix has a way of turning off the awful dubbing into American voices and watching in the original German with subtitles.

The thing that bugged me about DARK was that Netflix (at least in the US) automatically played with English dubbing. I have Netflix set up to always display CC (closed captioning) or subtitles, even with English. But when I started DARK, Netflix decided to use English dubbing, so that I had to go into the settings and not only turn off dubbing, but turn on English subtitles AND had to chose German audio. What a pain.

I know, first world problems! Smile

Yep - that's exactly what I did too. Thankfully, Netflix remembers your choice so you don't need to do that for every episode.

By the way and by coincidence, I'm also watching season 2 of Stranger Things. Some interesting parallels between Dark and Stranger Things but Dark is certainly darker!

I liked the first season of Stranger Things, and I thought the second season was okay. I did not like the second season as I did the first. Have you seen the OA? (Also on Netflix.)

I actually saw more parallels between the third season of Twin Peaks and DARK, particularly how characters asked, "What year is this?"

Oi, I hope I'm not spoiling!
