Two Types of Premonitions I Experience

First off, Hi everyone! Glad to be back on both here and Skeptiko! I tried to explain this to the best of my ability, if you don't understand something, please ask me to clarify! These are two types of "premonitions" that I experience quite often.

Radio/Music Premonitions- This is when I am able to predict the next song that comes on the radio, but only if I have a strong connection to the band/musician. For example, I am a huge Nirvana fan. I would list them as my favorite band of all time. It is partly because I feel a major emotional connection to their music that no other band/musician can make me feel . Anyways, I can always tell when they are playing on the radio, or at least about to. I'll be sitting in the car, usually daydreaming, when I'll get a "flash" of an image of Nirvana. I'll turn to my dad and I'll tell him to turn the radio because Nirvana is about to play/is playing. The first couple of times this happened, my dad would give me a funny look, but he'd turn the radio, and he would open his eyes really wide when it was Nirvana playing. If it  isn't Nirvana playing, then they are the next band playing. My dad still gets really freaked out about it.

My local rock radio station doesn't play Nirvana a lot, or at least not frequently. The order of the songs is also completely random and changes everyday. I can do it with songs I hate, too. My aunt was listening to the radio on her phone, and I suddenly got "23" by Mike Will Made-it stuck in my head. This didn't make sense for two reasons. One, because I absolutely hate the song. Two, she was listening to a country radio station. Well, the next song that played was "23".

Technology Premonitions- This will probably sound weird,  but I "feel" a strong connection to my iPad. I'm not addicted or anything to it, but I use it for various purposes throughout the day like schoolwork, music, reading, etc. This "premonition" type  is a little harder to explain so I'll just go ahead and give an example. I let my sister borrow my iPad for a couple of days to use as an alarm clock. The day that I had given it to her, an image of "The Walking Dead" popped into my head. This was strange because I have never seen the show before. For the next three days, it kept popping into my head randomly. I thought nothing of it, though I did think it was weird.

Well, my sister gave me back my iPad on the third day. Out of curiosity, I looked through my YouTube history. For the last three days, she had been watching "The Walking Dead" series on my iPad. There was no way I could have known she was watching this because she was several miles away, staying with my mother for the weekend. This happens to me at least twice a week.

I would love to hear people's thoughts and opinions on these types of "premonitions". I'm also really curious if anyone has experienced anything similar to my experiences before.

23 is a number common in occult literature.  It is code for tantra.  It works like this.  Goddesses tend to be dual and gods tend to be trinities.  The goddess represents force or energy and the god represents form.  The principle of creativity starts with force and becomes form and so we get 23.  I doubt your premonition has anything to do with that of course but you might consider it an interesting anecdote.  I'm fascinated as to what a song called 23 could possibly be about.

It is nothing like the enlightened post you wrote lol. It’s a song about Michael Jordan, his basketball number was 23.

At least one of those experiences sounds to me as possibly describable as telepathy, rather than premonition.

I know it has been suggested (by Dean Radin, I think, possibly by others) that it's possible there is only one paranormal phenomenon, namely 'precognition' and all others are reducible to it. I don't find myself in agreement with that hypothesis, at least not from my own personal experience. For me, there are some seemingly clear examples of the merging of thoughts, so that one is aware of something simultaneous with another person, regardless of whether one is next to the other person, or many miles away.

Still, I always feel I should not express any firm opinion on other people's experiences, it could be both impolite and potentially misleading for me to presume to do so.

I don’t consider it impolite to express an opinion, no matter how strong it is, based on my experience. I wasn’t really sure if it was considered precognition, but now that I think about, the second one definitely fits under telepathy more than it does precognition. The first one could fit under either one imo.

Thanks for the reply. If I might give a hypothetical example of a situation where it would, I feel be impolite of me to respond too strongly with my opinion. Let's say someone posts a photograph which they found online somewhere, showing white circular blobs, often referred to as 'orbs'. Normally I would patiently explain how these are a straightforward outcome of using a camera with a built-in flash, which illuminates tiny, out-of-focus specks (examples, smoke, moisture, dust) normally invisible, and makes them visible. A straightforward technical explanation. However, if we change the scenario, and a member says the photo is one they took themself at a funeral of a loved one, I would back off considerably from such a dogmatic response, instead allowing compassion to be the guiding principle. This is what I mean when I say I feel the need to be less forceful in responding with regard to personal experiences.

More importantly, the experience happened to someone else, they lived it. I'm just reading some written words, possibly misunderstanding the significance completely.
