I do think he makes an interesting argument but I'd probably challenge certain details.

For example there are a variety of records from different parts of the world where someone awakens at the time of their funeral and relays information. Shushan has noted this occurs a few times over in Native American belief systems.

So I don't think he's right that only Jesus died and came back to life.

There's also the Druze and their testing of children to see if they are reincarnates.

I haven't done any deep dives into evidence of Christ's Resurrection, so can't comment too much on that part.
'Historically, we may regard materialism as a system of dogma set up to combat orthodox dogma...Accordingly we find that, as ancient orthodoxies disintegrate, materialism more and more gives way to scepticism.'

Jesus was three days dead after his funeral.  His body should have been starting to decompose.
George Rodonaia is an NDEr who was apparently also dead 3 days, in the morgue.

Quote:After three days, when the autopsy of Rodonaia’s body was just getting under way, he succeeded in opening his eyes. At first, the doctors thought it was a reflex, but Rodonaia appeared to have actually come back from the dead, even though his death and his frigid condition had both been confirmed. He was in poor condition physically, but after three days, the first words he spoke were about the baby that urgently needed help. X-rays of the baby confirmed that he was right.

This is from this webpage by Kevin Williams that also mentions a Russian man who allegedly was dead for 22 days.

Rodonaia is one of the cases in The Self Does Not Die.

Interesting if it is true.  I have mentioned in another thread of my skepticism with regards books of anecdotal evidence written by people with a vested interest and their own biases.  I don't usually accept or use books as evidence these days.  I'm not knocking the case though,  It is believable if unusual.

There are several youtube videos where he relates his story (from quite a while ago).

One thing to observe is that there are multiple raisings from death in the Christian tradition. They're recorded in the Old Testament (https://www.gotquestions.org/raised-from-the-dead.html), and everyone knows Jesus raised Lazarus before the Crucifixion. Many Catholic saints are said to have raised people from the dead, such as St. Vincent Ferrer. So I think it's incorrect to think that, in the Christian religion, Jesus' uniqueness comes down to having been the only person to have come back from the dead--rather, Jesus is unique in having returned to life permanently.

Among recent cases of anomalous/miraculous returns to life, I think that Sean George's is the most impressively documented that I know of. Fortunately for those of us interested in these topics, George is a medical doctor and has gone to great lengths to carefully compile and make publicly available the evidence that his experience defies current biological knowledge:

Two things about Jesus that set him apart; he predicted his own death and resurrection and he didn't need other people to resuscitate him.
