Or fear of setting a precedent where such exposures could happen?

The bill already appears to address most such concerns. At least legitimate ones as opposed to concerns over exposure of illegal or otherwise dishonest activities.

Some details about the amendment, from https://defensescoop.com/2023/07/25/sena...al%20topic

The amendment appears to be very specifically and exactly targeted on government-related UAP project documentation, and on obtaining any crash debris, or remains or bodies or "biologics", and explicitly prevents disclosure of any of this if an independent board determines that the information could put people at risk or adversely affect national security. If such UFO fragments and "biologics" simply don't exist, there should be little concern except of course of wasting a little money. Of course, we're talking about how Washington actually works, not how it is supposed to work, so I suppose some spooks might still worry about setting some sort of precedent.

Quote:"...the amendment would mandate every government office to identify all copies of government-made, government-provided, or government-funded records relating to UAPs, technologies of unknown origin, and non-human intelligence throughout their agencies’ history. For the Department of Defense, such records could date back to the days when its enterprise was known as the Department of War.

If passed, the bill would mandate the National Archives and Records Administration to generate an entirely new “UAP Records Collection” and index of what’s compiled from federal agencies and can be disclosed without putting any person at risk or exposing any platform in a way that could undermine national security. Among other notable inclusions, the amendment would form a new independent agency — the UAP Records Review Board — that would be responsible for determining if records should qualify for the postponement of disclosure.
.....................................
Also, the bill language states “The Federal Government shall exercise eminent domain over any and all recovered technologies of unknown origin and biological evidence of non-human intelligence that may be controlled by private persons or entities in the interests of the public good,”"

There’s either evidence or there isn’t evidence.

All of these ufo grifters and talking heads such as Coulthart, Grusch, Elizondo, Corbell et al, need to put up or shut up. Show us who the 40 whistleblowers are. Disclose these sources. What happened to that ufo under a building Ross Coulthart? Just another two weeks, and disclosure is around the corner!

You can’t just keep on saying that they are hiding something when we have actual evidence that for 80+ years now, not a single substantial piece of hard evidence or official source has been produced or proclaimed, regarding Aliens/NHI etc. Surely SOMEONE from one of these special access programmes that allegedly has material would be able to turncoat and be able to definitively produce evidence that leaves no doubt for the entire world to clearly see. I’m talking indisputable evidence. We have nothing of the sort!

This current ufo trend from 2017 onwards smells more like a disinfo campaign in this day and age of utter confusion and guilabilty.

I agree with you to an extent, it does feel like someone should have produced evidence of some kind. However, I think this also depends on what the evidence is.

Are there alien vehicles or merely strange fragments? Are there alien corpses or weird apparently biological samples that are not even a clear organ?

I think it's plausible there could be some secret related to unidentified tech or biological samples, but I also agree with you there are too many grifters. In fact I would also be skeptical about an orchestrated disinfo campaign, seems more likely you have a collection of people who like attention and money.

Not even sure what a disinfo campaign getting a fraction of people to believe in alien visitors would accomplish?

All of this seems to be nothing more than a ufo religion. The level of critical thinking from idiot followers on Twitter/X is astoundingly low to non existent.

The need to believe is a strong thing. The funny thing is that it’s totally a “religion” I would whole heartedly be converted by. And at times I have been. But then the brain engages and the gut tells me something doesn’t add up.

The thing is, at least for me Sci, disinfo or whatever the reason, is that there are so many claims flying around at the moment, that it’s a complete mess. Who knows what anymore. The only credible people at this time seem to be the skeptics. With good reason imo.

Those are fighting words Wink LOL

But in seriousness my issue with skeptics in general is the universal casting of doubt on everything from Jesus & Buddha to some witness account of a tiny object moving for unexplained reasons.

I do think in the case of an agenda, or this idea of alien technology + corpses hidden by US gov't, I lean heavily toward skepticism. But regarding the "UFO" experience that has happened across a large geographical and temporal span I find the pseudo-skeptic position to be willfully ignorant denial because the phenomena potentially contradict their own religious needs that trend toward materialist-atheism.

An update:

Avi Loeb is a well-known and highly credentialed Israeli-American theoretical physicist who works on astrophysics and cosmology. He is the Frank B. Baird Jr. Professor of Science at Harvard University, where since 2007 he has been Director of the Institute for Theory and Computation at the Center for Astrophysics. He chaired the Department of Astronomy from 2011–2020, and founded the Black Hole Initiative in 2016. He also has recently founded the Galileo Project at Harvard, aimed to investigate the evidence for contact by extraterrestrials.

Just a few days ago, Avi Loeb was openly expressing doubt about David Grusch’s claims in an op-ed on The Messenger. He said he was doubtful based on his testimony, but even more doubtful after his Joe Rogan experience.

But apparently, after actually meeting and having a conversation with him, his tone has changed considerably.

In a new article in The Debrief, Avi Loeb himself made a statement, at https://thedebrief.org/all-habitable-wor...hkro40o170:

Quote:“A few days ago, I had the privilege of a long conversation that lasted more than an hour with David Grusch, who recently testified under oath to the US Congress about programs within the government for crash retrieval and reverse engineering of alien spacecraft. Any related findings would save me time and effort in retrieving the evidence myself within the coming decades.

David and I hope that any such evidence will eventually be shared with scientists who can make sense of what it means. What lies outside the solar system should not be hidden behind the veil of national security but rather shared with all humans like any other scientific discovery about the cosmos."

Either Grusch, 40 whistleblowers, new whistleblowers, Karl Nell, Chris Mellon, Timothy Gallaudet and more are part of an elaborate and expensive psyop being conducted for unknown reasons, or the phenomena are real and the retrieval and back-engineering programs are real.

Well the phenomena can be real, and there can be secret military programs, but we can still not have any alien technology that is being back-engineered.

We have seen some evidence haven’t we? What about the videos released by the military and their subsequent testimony? I’m not saying it’s conclusive or even persuasive but it is evidence isn’t it?

I think the most likely possibility is that there indeed are crashed and retrieved UFO debris and perhaps even whole vehicles, and there have been intensive efforts to back-engineer them, but the key factor is that all these expensive retrieval and reverse engineering efforts have been unsuccessful, for reasons already detailed in other posts having to do with the extremely advanced and impenetrable nature of the alien technology. Analogous to expecting engineers of the year 1800 to analyze and understand and then duplicate and utilize a modern smartphone.
