I did look for one of the programs you mentioned (TieraZon) but all the download links I found were broken. After further searching I found a related program named Sterling2, which I understand is from the same author.

Having said that, I'm happy to see the images you've produced, those are the real focus of my attention. Fascinating stuff.

Thank you.  It seems the domain name of the site has expired.  I ought to back up my copy for the future.  I may write to the author and find out what's happening, because this is a fairly recent development.  Sterling 2 makes some beautiful fractals but I didn't know how to get a basic Mandelbrot with it so everything I did with it was down to guesswork.

This one was straight out of TieraZon with no post processing or deep styling.  I adapted the basic Mandelbrot formula to z*z^(z+1)+c and took a Julia from it.

I am curious as to just how much non-fractal modification is needed in those images. For example, one of the images has a rising (or setting) sun. Did that come out of the fractal or was it just added?

All parts of the structure are fractal and all lighting effects, atmospheric effects and textures, although a part of the fractal program, are added just for effect.

This shows the most basic functions of Mandelbulb 3D.  It's quite a sophisticated program and there is quite a bit under the hood.  Generously, it is freeware.

   

   

   

Those are great fractals - I have set the second one as my desktop background image! It looks good, but I fear I may find it difficult to find my icons on it!

BTW, you haven't got a higher resolution version by any chance ?
