Shortly after he and his wife found out they were going to have a baby girl they chose the name "Kira" as it is Sanskrit for Beam of Light and also composed of Ki (earth) and Ra (sun god).
One of his scientific endeavors was to show that planetary alignments and coronal hole streams can be predictors of earthquakes.
As his wife was giving birth to their daughter, Kira, Saturn was aligned and his earthquake prediction website sent out an alert that successfully predicted an earthquake which just happened to occur near Kirakira in the Solomon Islands.
