Simple pleasures

Just a thread for people to mention those little (sometimes silly) things that give more pleasure than you’d expect.

For example, I’m in my fifties and I’ve only recently tried taking in a breath of helium and talking or singing. It’s way more fun than I expected (the dog finds me weird, though).

Very interesting, Linda. Now I can understand your post on the 'Keith Augustine interview' thread, better. Could that be the affects of helium ?

As regards little things that give pleasure.  I put a plastic bucket (with another smaller bucket inside it) at the bottom of the garden a couple of years ago and forgot about it. This summer there was a whole family of frogs happily sitting there in the stagnant leaf filled water. The adaptation of nature is wonderful.

An interesting topic. I won't bother with those things which are long-term. But perhaps something which surprised me by being so much fun was the first (and only) time I went skiing. Day one, on the baby slope watching little kids go flashing past. Day 2, a rather higher slope. I managed quite a passable impression of Bridget Jones on both the ski-lift and on the slopes.

Do they sell sulphur hexafloride in convenient Mylar bags?

Don’t think I didn’t try to figure out how to get the dog to breathe in helium and then bark...any suggestions?
