Quote:Gail Hayssen hosts the Small Medium At Large podcast. She has worked as a successful subject in parapsychology experiments. She has also explored shamanistic cultures around the world. She is the recipient of an honorary doctoral degree from the Mongolian Academy of Sciences. You can reach her podcast at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCosd...

Here she tells how she developed a close connection with shamans from Mongolia who visited the United States in 2004. As a result of this connection, she was invited to present at a conference on shamanism in Mongolia. She describes a variety of adventures with shamans in Mongolia, including some in which it appeared to others that she was quite ill. Eventually this led to her receiving initiation into Buryat Mongolian shamanism, although the details of the initiation process will wait for a future interview.

Quote:This the third in a series of interviews with Gail about the cultural practices of the Huichol Indians of Mexico. Here she describes how her journeys to the Huichol people in Mexico intersected with her marriage, and how she eventually brought her husband with her to the peyote ritual ceremony. She movingly describes the close, family relationships she developed with individual Huichols. She also discusses an instance in which a Huichol guest at her home in California received a healing treatment from a Mongolian shaman.

I found Gail Hayssen extraordinarily convincing. She was utterly down to earth, and the interview was extremely interesting.

Just skip over the first 10 minutes or so, before you start listening.

I have yet to listen to the second interview with Huichol.
