Nature of the Trickster

I was introduced to this idea originally by reading the thread posts of a former Skeptiko forum member, Sciborg, who I believe still posts around here. I genuinely enjoyed his stuff, and one particular idea he brought up really rang with me: the idea of there being a "trickster" nature to reality (especially psi and the paranormal)

Ive come to think that if there is an afterlife and similar greater parts of reality beyond our reach of absolutely confirming, it teases it's existence to us. One recent quote from a NDEr that I saw in the NDE forum talked about how the experiencer heavily doubts any great results will come from AWARE II, simply because the knowledge of an afterlife is not important to mankind as a whole. Yet. It obviously is an important lesson for those who reach it, but obviously we as a whole aren't according to him. And this experiencer is far from the only person to suggest this seriously.

In academic discussion it's not a great hypothesis because it just leads you to a dead end suggesting you'll never find conclusive findings until it's the right time for those secrets to be brought forth. Making research sound fruitless. However, I bet many parapsychologists have at least given the idea serious thought at least once because after awhile, it seems to be the situation

If you have the belief, the definition, that "similar greater parts of reality [are] beyond our reach of absolutely confirming" then you absolutely will never confirm them. Change the definition, change the outcome, it's your physical reality, create it as you choose.

No knowledge is important to everyone as we all are on different paths and are different paths that no one map encompasses.
