Many times I have wondered if certain rules of physics continue through various dimensions or states of existence.
One of these is that for something to continue to exist, it needs fuel or energy.
We hear all sorts of accounts of ghosts, some particularly interesting ones from Japan, where ghosts need something to continue to exist the way they do, and that they literally feed off of it.
The same could be said about certain other entities, whether people think of them as demons, or other manipulation entities with other titles.
What different types of spiritual or ghost nutrition have you experienced?
What do you think they need for continued survival?
Edited to add some examples:

Quote:Key details regarding what different spirits feed on (Japan) include:
- Gaki (Hungry Ghosts): Inhabit a realm of constant punishment. They often cannot eat or drink, or their food turns to fire and ashes upon consumption. When they can consume, they feed on filth, including corpses, feces, and vomit.
- Jikininki (Human-Eating Ghosts): These are the spirits of selfish individuals cursed to search for and consume human corpses.
- Yurei & Other Spirits:
- Yuki-onna (Snow Woman): Feeds on human life essence, freezing victims and sucking their souls through the mouth.
- Gashadokuro (Giant Skeleton): Feeds on travelers by biting off heads and drinking blood.
- Kappa: While a yokai rather than a ghost, they are known to feed on human entrails, though they enjoy cucumbers.
- Offerings (Segaki): During the Obon season, special ceremonies (segaki) are performed to provide food and water to these wandering ghosts, aiming to soothe their suffering.
