So, I've found this interview (link below) with a well know Dr. in Italy, Enrico facco. He is a specialist and university professor in anesthesiology, but also has a specialization in neurology. What makes him stand out among other, higly qualified MDs such as him is his knowledge of philosophy and history, that resembles that of somebody holding a PhD. in humanistic studies!

Becoming a university teacher in italy requires an outstanding CV, years of work in the field and many peer-reviewed publications before being even able to apply for the position. I find that he could be an authority in this field on par of Sam Parnia or Van Lommel.
