The known crop circles created by hoaxing are much smaller and simpler. Therefore, crop circles seem to point toward an authentic mystery. The "chemtrail" conspiracy theory suggests some sort of large-scale effort to place toxic chemicals in the environment. The available evidence suggests that this would require the coordinated effort of thousands of people. Evidence in favor of this conspiracy is generally lacking or weak.
