Just caught a part of this BBC Radio 4 programme this morning...

Who Am I? The Brain and Personality

This type of discussion doesn't make a great deal of sense to me unless we a least first, try and tie down peoples ideas about the nature of perception, otherwise everybody is talking about the same stuff, but from completely different positions...

Then I hear people like Professor Nick Chater talking and I scratch my head... really I do... :-(
We shall not cease from exploration
And the end of all our exploring
Will be to arrive where we started
And know the place for the first time.
I listened to that; some of it was quite interesting. However it had a certain self-contradictory argument, "everything that you think you know is an illusion - but what I think I know is the truth" - or something approximately along those lines.

Also the lack of balance was evident - where was the equivalent of Richard Wiseman or Susan Blackmore to come along and pull holes in what was said from an alternative viewpoint? Balance is a one-way street apparently.
