| Summary | Sudden cardiac arrest is a major cause of death, suddenly killing about 350,000 each year in the United States alone. Of those who experience sudden cardiac arrest outside of a hospital, few survive. A big recent study on what goes on in near-death experiences is now available in preprint form.
