The Science of Channeling with Dr. Wahbeh

I was just looking into videos on this work with Dr. Helané Wahbeh, and noticed Chris posted her interview with Mishlove.

Here are some others - a short one from the last year just introducing the work (her name is misspelled in the video), and a longer one from last month giving the results of the research.

I think this is the (full) research article that these videos talk about, or at least one of them:
A physiological examination of perceived incorporation during trance

Here's a more recent interview, done by Suzanne Gieseman.

What Science Has to Say about Channeling Spirit, with Helané Wahbeh, Director of Research at IONS

From the report it seems that science says nothing about channeling other than that it is non-pathological and there are certain neurological and physiological effects.  Interesting if you are interested in studying trance states.
Recent article:
Evaluating brain spectral and connectivity differences between silent mind-wandering and trance states
At around 21 minutes they discuss an experiment where mediums and controls were tested at guessing the cause of death of images of deceased people, and both did better than chance. I think I found the article and controls actually did better!

I decided to look up the institute of noetic sciences that this woman works for and on one of their pages is the following

Quote:Our Guiding Hypothesis
Everything is interconnected. By embodying an awareness of this interconnection, we can tap into information and energy not limited by space and time, and profoundly amplify transformation, innovation, and well-being.

Science???????  More like another new age cult using pretend science to justify its gibberish!

Enjoy a short vacation from this forum while you reflect on your refusal to follow direct, (very) recent reminders of its rules.
