A personal synchronicity by definition has nothing to do with the reality of the distinct object or event per se. You didn't even let Hurm elaborate before posting this, which implies a dismissal of synchronicities as a general phenomenon. That isn't the kind of post that's allowed in this half of the forum, and has even less place in the "personal experiences" sub-forum, where members should be free from ridicule when they want to share. Please mind the forum rules.

I mean, it really doesn't sound like much of anything more than standard psychological stuff. There a similar word in two different places, therefore there's a connection. the number 7 appeared, therefore connection. and in some parts of your explanation you very much sound like you're trying to make things fit so that there's a connection. For example:

Quote:Now where is Zipporah, the wife? I don't know... I was there looking at this with my wife. Maybe the water itself is the wife or the roundness of the lake...

So yeah, I'm pretty confident there's no real synchronicity, but you wish there was so you're trying to make things fit. For comparison something that sounds like it's a lot more of a real synchronicity to me is Dean Radin's four part thing that he talks about in this interview starting at 03:40:

You don't find it a bit of a coincidence that of all the desktop background pictures out there I happened to change it to a place I'd never heard of that I was unknowingly about to visit on my birthday? (I change my desktop background maybe once year) And furthermore that out of all the beautiful places we visited on that trip, the place of my synchronicity is associated with paranormal activity and lore likely because of its powerful symbolic content?

And yeah, you can't really top Dean Radin's synchs... anyone else's would pale in comparison.

I mean... maybe? But at the same time it could also have been a retrocausation type effect like what is found in remote viewing. You having the emotional response and fixation you had when you went there pinging you to change your desktop background at the time. Though it'd be debatable if it was really "you" in the "future" at the time, or just the most likely outcome of how things were going to go recursively cementing itself and forging a connection that hadn't previously existed, kinda like a spark crossing a gap and connecting two otherwise separate points. Also debatable is how different that is from a synchronicity.

I don't think there's any reality to "powerful symbolic content" because those symbols and their content are ultimately just opinion. They could've been anything, according to anyone. So any power they might have is solely in the minds of their believers, which still technically could create some sort of psychokinetic effect maybe, but it's not because of the symbols. Besides, lots and lots and lots and lots of places are said to have paranormal activity, especially once you start going into natural sites. so I don't really see that being too much of a coincidence.
