Quote:The Fetzer Memorial Trust presents for FREE the feature film documentary "Infinite Potential: The Life and Ideas of David Bohm". “Infinite Potential: The Life and Ideas of David Bohm” is about the man Einstein called his “spiritual son” and the Dalai Lama his “science guru.”

A brilliant physicist and explorer of Consciousness, Bohm’s incredible insights into the underlying nature of reality and the profound interconnectedness of the Universe and our place within it are truly transformational.

Quote:A new film, Infinite Potential: The Life and Ideas of David Bohm – https://www.infinitepotential.com – has just been released for free online. In this episode of the Sheldrake-Vernon Dialogues, Rupert Sheldrake and Mark Vernon discuss its excellent telling of the dramatic life and revolutionary insights of this deep scientific thinker. Rupert first met Bohm in 1982 soon after the publication of his book A New Science of Life precipitated a negative reaction from the militant materialists; the editor of the leading scientific journal Nature tried to excommunicate him. Bohm had a similar experience forty years earlier with the quantum physics community. Mark and Rupert talk about what Bohm drew from Krishnamurti, and how the formalisms of quantum theory are influenced by psychological and spiritual perceptions. They also explore the ways in which Bohm’s notion of an implicate order resonates strongly with that of morphic fields, and discuss Bohm’s engagement with the ideas of Owen Barfield, about whom Mark has written. They highly recommend the film.

I am drawn to David Bohm, although I don’t find him to be easy listening. This isn’t simply because of the content he often discusses, but I find his speech habits and talking to be a bit frustrating. I guess a lot of that is because of the tricky content?

I wonder why I’m strongly drawn to him, but lesser to others? I’m guessing we are all the same? Ie are particularly drawn to certain individuals.

Anyway, I feel that he’s talking about something important. Maybe I should focus on that!

Oh my God, I hate all this.   Surprise

David Bohm and Owen Barfield: a conversation

Mark Vernon

Quote:This is a summary of an exchange between the physicist David Bohm and the philologist Owen Barfield, and others, that took place on 1st and 2nd May 1982 at the Kettering Foundation.
Quote:The occasionally broken transcript was given to me by Rob Lehman of the Fetzer Institute who facilitated the meeting.
Quote:The exchange ranges over issues from insight and imagination, to evolution and education, to time and language, to souls and spiritual beings.
