I'm glad for that.

You're welcome.

I think quite the opposite: the magnitude of the situation (a magnitude which you seem to recognise) is so severe that animals are not at all served by concessional and equivocal advocacy. Uncompromising advocacy is necessary and reasonable.

Yes, but not the traditional Abrahamic God, due to the problem of evil.

I tried to show that I think there may be a way to overcome evil, and I don’t think it can be found by looking at anything in an ‘uncompromising’ way.

Here we differ. And you’ll never change my opinion on this!!!!  Tongue
Oh my God, I hate all this.   Surprise

Beating one's wife is sometimes OK. Molesting children isn't always wrong. The abuse and mistreatment animals can often be accepted. One plus one doesn't always equal two. OK, fine, you're right, Steve. Sometimes we have to compromise a little.

Huh. That sounds oddly... uncompromising.

You just can’t let some things go. Can you? I can only lead a horse to water Laird.

What do you think the smiley was about? Haven’t you noticed that (until now) I hadn’t been using smilies in this thread as I often do in our discussions?

I thought it would have been rather obvious that I was joking, my bad. I should maybe have used brackets around the sentence after “Here we differ”.

Perhaps your emotion is clouding your ability to see ?

No more smilies!
