I didn't mean MeToo in that way as I'm sure you understood. However, if spiritual growth during physical incarnations is about catching up with sexual opportunities one might've missed out on, you've at least got my attention Smile

Didn't the philosopher  Kate Bush once write that sex was "the root of our reincarnations"?

As I  understand it, the new testament Greek word sin (syn) meant missing the target or falling short of the meaning (of the "law" presumably), in other words, wrong understanding.  And that Jesus (the anointed one) was seemingly tasked with confronting this wrong understanding of the religious hierarchies, who were leading people down the wrong "path" with their devotion to illogical rituals and unnecessary practices. To spell it out to them once and for all what was important, justice, mercy and good faith.

I don't think sin is anything to do with being naughty etc. Just my thoughts.

You're on the right lines entirely tim - I'd like to discuss more but this isn't the place for it.

This oh-so-serious discussion is making me think of many cases in Stevenson's work, for one thing, where a premature death seems to be the explanation (putting aside whether one is a proponent or not) for the reincarnation. My memory is vague about specific cases, but it seems to have left me with the impression that in some cases frustration or a sense of unfairness with a turn of events had something to do with the next reincarnation that took place. I'd have to go back and re-read them, and especially read all of the relevant literature, but one could be led to think that "ego"/desire (in the broad sense) might have a say in what happens next, and not just a higher soul and its "plans". Just thinking out loud.

That's true. Lets leave it, Brian because it's not something I feel the urge to pursue.

Yes, but women (if you mean women) are also a hell of a lot of trouble, aren't they.  If you have the looks and you want to play the field, great but you need to have zero emotional empathy to carry it off without getting involved/hurt and I'm sure you don't need me to tell you about that, Malf, you old dog (or young pup) Wink
