Board problems

A couple of odd problems seem to have developed.

This morning I tried to edit a post I'd just made, and found that the edit didn't have any effect.

Also, some of the icons for the editing options seem to be jumbled. The first two options are bold and italic, but the icons are for centred and justified text. Some of the other ones look wrong too.
I did notice yesterday when I wanted to use bold text that the icon was showing as a paragraph alignment icon.  I actually hand-typed the formatting
Code:
[b]bold txt here[/b]
because I couldn't be sure which was the right button to click.

I found that when I hovered over the icons, the right description appeared in a "tool tip".

Those are odd problems, which probably have something to do with the recent upgrade. Have you been able to edit a post successfully since then, Chris? And are you still seeing the wrong icons? How about you, Typoz? Anybody else? It all looks fine in my browsers.

A possibility: the problem is caused by your browser having cached files that have been upgraded and are now incompatible with other upgraded files. Perhaps you can try to have necessary files reloaded using a series of progressively more forceful/impactful steps, stopping when (if) one of them solves the problem:
  1. Reload a page showing editing icons using not just ctrl+R but ctrl+shift+R.
  2. If you are using Firefox, then open up developer tools using F12 (assuming this key works for you) and in the "Network" tab check "Disable cache" and then reload (plain old ctrl+R is fine) a page showing editing icons.
  3. Clear your browser's entire page cache using whichever method your browser provides.
Let us know how you go!

[ETA: I should add that I temporarily experienced the problem described in this MyBB forum thread and that I used the second step above. After that, the problem was resolved - whether it was solved by that I don't know, but it's worth a try.]

Thanks for the suggestion. This seems to have fixed things for me:

Thanks. The icons are OK for me now. I still can't edit using Firefox, but instead of following your recipe I tried using Internet Explorer instead, and that worked. So I suppose it's either a caching issue or a Firefox issue. If it persists I'll give your recommendations a go.

(Edit: If you can see this, CTRL-SHIFT-R worked.)

By the way, I am using Firefox with no further problems.

Have you tried the steps I suggested in my post above? I got that same error a few times, and it went away after refreshing the cache via step #2.

I use an IPad so I just dismissed your post when I saw the “ctrl” this and that.
