I honestly have no idea how to react. It sounds like nonsense to me, but at the same time, he seems at least somewhat self-aware of how he comes across with this. I'm not sure what to think.

If he's right/speaking truthfully though (and is not crazy or lying or whatever)...then I can't say I blame the aliens for their decision. Given all the bizarre and horrible stuff going on at the moment in general, they should definitely wait some time before making themselves known!

I'm not putting my foot down hard on this one but it sounds like the kind of nonsense I used to hear as a newager: "When the human race is ready" "Galactic federation" etc.  It's just so generic you could make one of those bots to come up with stuff like it.
