If time is actually an illusion, and everything actually happens simultaneously as I hear said occasionally by those who are brave or foolish enough to venture an opinion, consider this thought.
If this is accurate, there is the possibility that we have already become enlightened and are existing within God, having fully grown.

Nah, can’t be!  Confused

Surprise
If time is an illusion there would be no real change...

But the illusion we exist in where there seems to be time is changing...

Huh
Yep. The claim that "time is an illusion" seems to have similar, though not quite as strong, refutations as "consciousness is an illusion".

It’s one of those where I just say...”It seems that we’re meant to believe that time is ‘real’, but in reality the truth may be incomprehensible to us at this point”.

But who knows our potential as humans. If everyone was like me, we probably wouldn’t get very far!

Well, that's a pretty tough example, given the thread title, 'Time'. In my view, time is a trivial matter, compared with the second topic you have introduced, enlightenment. Perhaps there needs to be another thread named 'Enlightenment'.

Still, right here I'll suggest that enlightenment isn't a journey in terms of travelling to a destination, but more like a point of view. It doesn't require any motion through either time or space.

I think this needs re-reading a few times to let it sink in.

I think I agree but maybe I'm misunderstanding the point which, as far as I can tell, is that existing in the illusion means that we can't conceive of anything other than that which we experience. I tend to think that time may be the way that consciousness orders events but that it is as much a creation of mind as is the physical world that we experience as solid.

Heh if everyone was like me we'd probably be going backwards! Big Grin
