Let's say WHAT happens ? Do you mean if the state of California receives a nuclear strike, killing 20 million people it's going to have a positive effect ?
Positive and negative, two sides, same coin.

Where is Saiko? Outgrown all this?

I hate to agree with Pssst twice in one day, but I have to agree with this one. This is a forum where most of the folks believe in an afterlife, right? Birth and Death. Imagine if on the "other side" people loathe being reborn and their impending "birth" as much as we loathe death. Is there any difference between one person dying and 25 million? I'm not sure there is.

What's the positive effect ?

When the last mass extinction event happened, we can assume billions of lives of all types were extinguished. Should we label it as a bad thing or a good thing that this happened?
What about the next one? Will that one be bad or good?

I am not sure any mass-destruction of life can be labelled good. Though I guess it was a good thing for the surviving critters they preyed on.
