Yes - though I think we can do without headlines like "Briton in Cuba on 'honeymoon from hell'". It's almost on a par with "Titanic Sinks: Local Man Drowned". I don't know what's happened to the BBC.
Good luck.
Man this thing is driving everyone nuts. The turn, the turn the g**damn turn. First its going up the east coast, then it's going up the center, now it's going up the west coast but new updates have it inching more west. No surprises if it goes into the gulf altogether. There was absolute confidence in all those modeled tracks though, lol

Yeah, it's a huge hurricane and unpredictable ultimately. But now the panhandle and alabama are sh**ing because a day ago they were told, no problem, you're safe.

As of now us all on the east coast will probably see tropical storm type winds around 50mph give or take. Everything can change in a minute though

Unbelievably, this morning, one of the six main headlines on the main BBC news page is "Briton rescued from Irma 'war zone'"."

Parochialism appears the new norm when reporting, perhaps influenced by America.

Storms don't respect computer modeling any more than regular weather follows the forecast/futurecast.   Wink   The only certainty about weather is its unpredictability as it's changing.
Lots of vids being posted with, what I would assume is a combination of wind and low pressure, of bays like Tampa Bay and other shorelines, being sucked dry of water. Very weird. Everything is doing a sort of Bay Of Fundy thing.

Raining hard up here with 20mph gusts in the very NE corner, yet the eye is a good 500 miles away.

No El Nino seems responsible
The British Virgin Islands have also been trashed, let's not forget. And Barbuda looks like it's a gonner. Livelihoods, homes, the island's economy and infrastructure all wrecked.

Yes. For all the 'glad we dodged that bullet' someone, someplace got destroyed.

It's a sort of philosophical thing that does weigh on my mind. For example, I'm reading through the comments on this very popular weather spaghetti model facebook page and you obviously have people praying for the hurricane to move in a direction away from them while, for all intents and purposes, it is also inadvertently praying for the destruction to be happening for others somewhere else. At the same time everyone is praying for everyone to be safe which of course is impossible in this circumstance!
Thankfully mass prayer doesn't work. Just imagine the chaos if it did!
