I mean we still exist when we out of body but what about in body, what the point of living?
I'm quite confused, does that mean we can kill ourselves anytime we want?
The point is... that we are here to learn and experience. What that is, who knows. It's a very individual thing.

The physical form limits, restricts, shapes, modulates, our mind and its capabilities. Our sensory awareness is most often limited to what the physical senses provide.

Therefore, one of the reasons we're here is so that we have a challenging experience. An exciting struggle to overcome. Whatever it may be.

Maybe, maybe not. Why we have to suffer if we have better life and we have no limit or boring if we dont life in a body. Why we have to feel that or we just in here to get to a higher level, maybe the nde and obe is not what before we are born but it a higher level of life. Or just life buddhism, it just bcs of us and we stuck in a wheel, but when i look again and shee in an hard atheist view :l i ask another question, why life? So it as meaningless as why after life it just how every work.

Killing yourself is a backward step imo.
Reading about people that jump from bridges intent on killing themselves, any that survive say that as soon as they leave the bridge, the overwhelming feeling they had was one of strong regret. Perhaps they automatically transfer to the souls dimension in part.

If we take the view that we still exist when not in the body then it is impossible to not live. The question doesn't have an answer in that sense. We simply are, eternal.

But on the related and perhaps more relevant question, about living in a physical body on this planet, I tend to describe us as explorers. A bit like astronauts walking on the surface of the Moon, or planets such as Mars, or like deep-sea divers in the depths of the ocean.

If an astronaut on the Moon or (possibly in the future) Mars suddenly feels he's had enough and doesn't want to be there, it isn't a simple matter, there are practical considerations.

This isn't a perfect analogy, and like all analogies, examine it too closely and it will break or fall apart, but maybe it gives a hint of my views.

Because being able to do almost anything, or not have any kind of struggle, gets boring after a while.

We are here to grow by having something exciting to struggle against, or struggle towards. Having to work towards a goal, laboriously, can be fulfilling, when finally achieved. Even if we have to fail many times before reaching it.

I am of the mind that we are here purely through choice. We know how challenging this environment can be, but we know, as a Soul, that it always merely temporary, so we have the choice to have many kinds of experiences, from blissful to extremely painful. It's no fun to have the same experience every time.

Perhaps so... the Soul learned something from the experience, via the ego, and decided to keep going, is my theory.

The Soul can make choices that make very little sense to us down here, because we don't have the whole picture, as perceived by the Soul's wider perspective of things.

When an NDE is encountered after a suicide attempt, they don't try again, do they.

You’re right.

Actually...there is one that I’ve posted here, but it’s not what most people would think. Wayne Morrison searched desperately for a razor so that he could return to the amazing place he’d just experienced!

He did in fact find one, but then he heard a voice in his head say ‘NO’ in an authoritative manner, and at the same time the bathroom door opened and someone said “he’s in here” causing him to drop the razor.

But that was spur of the moment stuff, I’m sure he wouldn’t condone his own behaviour, though he could explain why he did it.

Just to add, two of Peter Fenwick's patient's wanted to do away with themselves after NDE's. One was a bloke who sat in a chair all day saying he wanted to die and the other was a young woman who kept trying to strangle herself with a ligature.

So my first statement was a bit hasty, I suppose. Bruce Greyson seems to think that most of them don't try again.
