I have been thinking about all the Psience Quest members I have listed as foes so that I don't have to look at their posts and I was reminded of Trump building his wall. How strongly I oppose that wall! Sure, it's easier to not see the attitudes I don't like but maybe I can learn something by opening up more and being more patient.  As the Desiderata says,

"Speak your truth quietly and clearly;

and listen to others,
even the dull and the ignorant;
they too have their story. "

How often I must turn my back and ignore that which I could learn from.  Perhaps  it's safer to keep these people on ignore and just open their posts when I feel I am better equipped to deal with them? But maybe learning not to get stressed is a better lesson?
I have struggled with this question, as well.

Some things I have found...

If you have someone on ignore, and they say something reasonable that you don't want to miss out on, somebody else will probably quote them.

If someone gets you riled up, it's not good for you. And it's not good for them to be the recipient of your ire. We're all humans.

Once ire is involved, any chance to learn something is pretty much done, anyways.

By all means maintain an open minded approach but beware that others don't fill your openness with their garbage....
