Just a reminder that this presentation will be happening a few days from now:

Quote:In 2020, aerospace entrepreneur Robert T. Bigelow founded the Bigelow Institute for Consciousness Studies (BICS). BICS's mission includes "to communicate, facilitate, educate and organize scientific research and exploration into the survival of human consciousness (SOHC)" with a particular focus on consciousness surviving permanent bodily death. Following a successful competition in 2021 for essays providing the best evidence for SOHC, BICS is now looking to the future. In this presentation, Robert Bigelow and Colm Kelleher will reveal the details, including application process and important dates, for BICS's new grants program for 2023, called “The Challenge”, that promises to significantly impact the future of research in the field of SOHC. Audience members attending this panel are invited to a complimentary bag lunch, for which they may make their menu selection on the conference registration form.
Some more info from the JSE:

Quote:...On September 1, 2022, BICS will unveil “Challenge 2023,” which is a targeted grants program that is aimed at funding research proposals on SOHC with a particular focus on contact and communication with the afterlife.

After going a bit into the first context they start discussing the upcoming "challenge" meant to provide funding for Survival research.

Bigelow seems to be pretty dedicated to putting money into Survival research, possibly more funding than has been seen in some time (ever?).

BICS is following up the 2021 Essay Contest with a new program called “The Challenge,” to be unveiled on September 1, 2022. The Challenge comprises a significant grants program that initiates in 2023 and is targeted toward researchers in the field of the SOHC. The three main bounding parameters for The Challenge are:

Quote:· The research is to be exclusive to the survival of human consciousness beyond permanent bodily death.

· The research is to be exclusively focused on Contact or Communication with the “Other Side.”

· The research should preferably break new ground. BICS requires all applicants to submit information about themselves and their
  capability to conduct this research

I hope this contact/communication requirement doesn't preclude Reincarnation research, as I think that might be even easier to find hits for than the ideal that someone having an NDE sees one of the hidden stickers.
This seems to be the new challenge:

Bigelow returns with new $1M effort to contact the 'other side'

September 12, 2022 |

Quote:Robert Bigelow is offering grants of up to $1M to fund an attempt to communicate with someone who has died.

(...)

Now, however, it seems as though Bigelow is not done with his mission to prove that there is an afterlife because he is following up the essays contest with a drive for researchers to conduct actual experiments resulting in genuine communication with someone on the 'other side'.

Another $1M is up for grabs, divided up into several smaller grants to be awarded to research teams based on the value of their proposals laying out how they intend to accomplish this.

From the Bigelow website:

Quote:The Scope and Boundary of the Grants Program

The research is to be exclusive to the survival of human consciousness beyond permanent bodily death.

The research is to be exclusively focused on Contact or Communication with the “Other Side”.

The research should preferably break new ground.

BICS requires all applicants to submit information on themselves and their capability to conduct this research.
